Timmy Dean “Tim” Loudermelk, age 64, passed away on August 5, 2026, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Catawba County. Born on October 31, 1961, in Alexander County, Tim gifted those around him the warmth of his generous spirit for over six decades. His life’s journey was marked by devotion to family, unwavering kindness, and a love of the open road.

Tim’s roots stretched deep into the soil of Alexander County, where he grew up surrounded by the close-knit bonds of the Loudermelk family. Over the years, Tim became known for his heart of gold, a man whose door and heart were always open, and who, without hesitation, would do anything for anyone in need. He was an unwavering source of support and love for those fortunate enough to be in his circle.

Family meant everything to Tim. He is lovingly remembered by his girlfriend Brittney Stamey and her son Cullen, daughter, Jamie Campbell (Mack), and his three granddaughters, Larissa, Heidi, and Emma Campbell, who each held a special place in his heart. Tim’s brothers and sister—Andy Loudermelk, Sandy Loudermelk, and Jodie Loudermelk (Cindy)—shared a lifetime of memories with him; whether facing life’s challenges or celebrating its joys, their camaraderie was unbreakable. His circle of love extends to his nieces Amanda Carpenter (Chad), Leah Benfield (Tyler), and Amanda Foxx (Brandon), his nephews Dustin Lackey (Debra) and Mark Worley (Ariel), his great-niece Eleanor Foxx, and to every cousin whose life intertwined with his.

Tim cherished the time he spent with family, making every gathering an occasion for laughter, storytelling, and unforgettable moments. His love was not limited to his family; special friends more like family Brian Teague (Jill) and Nancy Gunter knew Tim’s loyalty and kindness firsthand.

Tim’s life was shaped not only by relationships, but by the work he dedicated himself to as a lifelong truck driver. Behind the wheel, whether delivering loads or traversing country roads, he found a sense of purpose and peace. More recently, he continued to serve his community as an employee of Rural King, carrying with him the work ethic and reliability for which he was respected by colleagues and customers alike.

Beyond his career, Tim found boundless joy in the simple pleasures that spoke to his adventurous cowboy soul. He loved riding horses, feeling the freedom and connection with the land beneath him. Tim was an explorer at heart, captivated by the vast, rugged beauty of the West. Each journey added another page to the story of a life well-lived. He was also a collector, especially of guns, treasuring the artistry and history they represented and often sharing this passion with those close to him.

Though Tim’s loss leaves a profound emptiness, the memory of his warmth, selflessness, and boundless love remains. He joins now many beloved family members who have gone before him, his Mama, Geraldine Loudermelk, uncles and aunts Ray Loudermelk (Dal), Dot Carrigan (Mon), Tom Loudermelk (Joan), Shirley Bumgarner (Charlie), and Bill Loudermelk (Louise). Their spirits, together again, live on through the countless stories and cherished recollections shared by those left behind.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service, 193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681. It will be a time to remember, to hold each other close, and to honor a man whose love carried so many through life.
