Veronica “Roni” Bottali Davis, 75, of Hickory, North Carolina, entered her heavenly home on September 24, 2025.
Roni was born on January 18, 1950, in Avonmore, Pennsylvania, to the late Pete Paul Bottali and Ida Sabo Bottali. From the very beginning, she lived life with a radiant spirit; charismatic, charming, daring, witty, and always on trend. Her presence lit up every room she entered, and her quick wit and warmth left lasting impressions on all who knew her.
Roni’s life was full of color and joy. In high school, she twirled as a majorette and shared her love of music through the saxophone. After earning her degree, she went on to earn her associate’s degree in applied sciences and dedicated 35 years to caring for others as a respiratory therapist, serving at both Catawba Memorial Hospital and UNC Blue Ridge Hospital (formerly Grace Hospital). Outside of work, Roni cherished time with her family, weekend getaways to Gatlinburg, Saturday night steakhouse dinners, and true to her stylish spirit, shopping for her next glamorous pocketbook.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kelly Rocco McCarraher; grandchildren Cody McCarraher (Kristin) and Kaylyn Dollar (Aron); her great-grandchild, Reece McCarraher; special daughter Brandy Sharpe (Levi Chapman); special grandchildren Zoie and Camden Sharpe; her sister, Nancy McGraw; and beloved toy poodle, Teddy. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, laughter, and strength.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to The Greens of Hickory, St. Aloysius Catholic Church, and Hospice & Palliative care of Iredell County for their care and support.
In keeping with Roni’s wishes, there will be no service, and flowers are kindly declined. Memorial donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America, Dementia Society of America PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901, or to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road Statesville, NC 28625.
Roni’s memory will live on through the love she gave, the joy she shared, and the courage with which she embraced life.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.
