Willard Talmage Bowman

Willard “Talmage” Bowman, age 89, passed away at his home in Alexander County. He was born to the late Willard and Bertha Starnes Bowman on Monday, April 6, 1936, in Caldwell County. During his working career, Talmage was a welder for Bethlehem Manufacturing. He was a veteran and proudly served his country in The United States Army. Talmage was a member of Mt. Bethel Methodist Church.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Royd and Norman Bowman.

Those left to cherish the memories of Talmage include his wife of 64 years, Mary T. Bowman, daughters, Rhonda Reinhardt (Kevin) and Ann Reece (Dwayne); grandchildren, Katelyn Banks (Billy) and Justin Reinhardt (Hayley); great-granddaughter, Addison Reinhardt, sister, Doris Ann Carrigan (Glenn), sister-in-law, Martha Bowman, and nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Monday, May 19, 2025, at Mt. Bethel Methodist Church from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The funeral service will be Monday, May 19, 2025, at Mt. Bethel Methodist Church at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Bradley Caldwell will officiate. Kevin Reinhardt, Justin Reinhardt, Dwayne Reece, Billy Banks, Latt Moretz, and Eric Braswell will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Bethel Methodist Church, 9042 NC 127, Hickory, NC 28601, or Carolina Caring, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
