William Dale Barr

William "Dale" Barr of Gastonia, NC, passed away on November 9, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on October 29, 1950, in Mecklenburg County, NC, Dale was a man whose career as a painter was not merely work to him; it was a passion that he embraced wholeheartedly. Mr. Barr was an avid family man, always present for his loved ones. Dale's life was marked by his love for many hobbies and interests. He loved to fish and enjoyed watching football. A fan of motorcycles and an avid pool player, he also cherished the music of the 1970s, which filled his home with joy.

He leaves behind his beloved children: daughters Candace Solomon (Eric) of Banner Elk, NC, and Melissa Young (Mike) of Taylorsville, NC; and son Brian Barr (Christine) of Mooresville, NC. Dale was also a proud grandfather to Cody Young, fiancé of Roxann, Lucas Barr, Alyssa Barr, and Tyler Barr. Additionally, he is remembered by his sister, Stephanie Coble (Craig), as well as his life partner, Gayle Elrod, stepchildren, Angel Lipford and Jeffrey Lipford, and grandchildren, Randa Barnette, Cameron Barnette, and Abigail Rose. 

Dale was preceded in death by his father, Torrence Lloyd Barr, and his mother, Patsy Rae Gibson Stephens. He was also mourned by the loss of his spouse of 24 years, Barbara Outley Barr, along with his siblings: sisters Sandra Jane Richardson and Patricia "Trish" Vanhoy, and brother Stephen "Steve" Barr.

Dale's vibrant spirit and the love he shared with his family and friends will be forever cherished and remembered.
