William Craig Caudle, a cherished member of his family and community, passed away peacefully at his home in Alexander County on Friday, October 10, 2025. Born on Wednesday, June 30, 1943, in Stanly County, North Carolina, Craig lived a life rich with love for his family and a passion for his work.
For many years, Craig dedicated himself as a truck driver, finding joy in the open road and the camaraderie found in conversations over the CB radio. His career was more than just a job; it was a significant part of who he was, reflecting his adventurous spirit and his ability to connect with others.
In addition to his commitment to his work, Craig enjoyed being outdoors. He relished moments spent mowing, hunting, and fishing, activities that brought him peace. His love for nature and the simple joys of life resonated deeply with those who knew him.
Craig was a devoted husband to Marjorie Fortner Caudle, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years. He was a proud father to his son, Monte Caudle, who carries forward the values and love instilled by his father. He is also survived by his grandsons, Brandon Caudle (Chelsie) and Jonathan Caudle (Tori), brothers, David "Butch" Caudle and Kenneth "Bud" Caudle, daughter-in-law, Susan Caudle, and great-grandson, Cooper Ellis. Craig's love and support for his family were unwavering, and he will be deeply missed by all of them.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents Dolan and Pauline Mauldin Caudle.
There will be a private graveside service. Rev. Eddie Jolly will officiate.
